RALEIGH, N.C. -- Ample sunshine is expected across the Tar Heel State today to help warm us up. It'll be warmer than Tuesday, but still well shy of where we should be.

After a cold start to our Wednesday, we'll see high clouds filtering the sun at times with highs ranging through the 40s to some low 50s.

More clouds will move into the area on Thursday along with milder afternoon temperatures.

By Friday, a new low pressure system will bring the region a new chance for rain.  Right now, it’s looking like we could see and inch to and inch and a half of rain from Friday into Friday night.
