As skies clear, we'll see colder temperatures and this will cause hazardous driving conditions overnight into Tuesday morning...

An upper level system brought another round of light precipitation on Monday morning.  That precipitation along with the snow and ice we saw on Sunday, lead to poor driving conditions across the area on Monday.  Now with temperatures dropping well below freezing tonight, re-freeze of area roads will become a concern.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of central and weather North Carolina into Tuesday.  Snow, ice and water freezing on local roads will cause unsafe driving conditions through mid-morning on Tuesday.

By Tuesday afternoon, we will see sunshine and temperatures above freezing in the 40s.

Cold temperatures early Wednesday may cause additional travel issues but they should not be as wide-spread as we saw on Monday or that we will see on Tuesday.

A slow warming trend is in the forecast by the end of the week.
