CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC -- Cumberland County deputies need the public's help with finding a man who drives a truck linked to a deadly shooting.

  • They are looking for a white Ford F-150
  • Witnesses say the suspect knew the woman after meeting her online
  • Neighbors say they don't understand why something like this happened

Deputies say a man shot and killed 26-year-old Tylehya Thomas December 5. She was pregnant.  It happened on Spur Ave at Buckhead Farm Mobile Home Park.

When deputies arrived, they also found Thomas' friend shot. She was treated and released from the hospital.  Witnesses told police the suspect knew Thomas after meeting him online.

"I don't even understand why it would get that far," neighbor Kamare Brewington said. "Like dude, you just met someone online and I mean if she's pregnant or if she's not pregnant, what's the point in taking a life behind that? Two lives at that!"

They are looking for a newer model, white, four door, Ford F-150 pick-up.
