NORTH CAROLINA -- 911 outages in the southeast United States affected call centers in the state early Thursday.

  • There were issues with AT&T
  • There are about 18 truck ready for deployment for the first winter storm
  • All hands on deck this weekend

Service issues with AT&T misrouted calls and kept some calls from coming in all together. While service has been restored for most centers, emergency crews and operators across the state are getting ready for the first winter storm.

"What we're going to do is any spare ambulances we have, we're going to call in extra staff and we’ll spread those units out throughout the county to improve response times," emergency services chief Dan Ozimek said.

During a normal shift, emergency services officials say they have about 16 to 18 trucks ready for deployment.

This weekend, it'll be all hands on deck.
