WAKE COUNTY, N.C. – Raleigh City Council has signed off on a smoking ban in several green spaces downtown.

  • Raleigh City Council voted to ban smoking in Nash and Moore Squares.
  • The ban does not include e-cigs.
  • They hope to make the squares appear more inviting.

Smokers are now banned from smoking at Nash and Moore Squares.

This does not include the use of e-cigarettes.

The goal is to make the parks appear more inviting for tourists and people living nearby.

Council members say liter caused by cigarettes in the past also contributed to the decision.
