SANFORD, N.C. -- Daniel Green, a man convicted of killing Michael Jordan's father, is asking for a retrial.

  • Green admits he helped get rid of James Jordan's body in 1993, but never shot and killed the man.
  • Green's sister believes the truth will soon surface.
  • The judge said he's going to reread documents and issue a ruling at a later date.

Green admits he helped get rid of James Jordan's body in 1993, but never shot and killed the man. He says he and his friend, Larry Demery were at a cookout and Demery left for a drug deal. Green pointed the finger to Demery saying he fought and killed Jordan, but Demery previously testified to the contrary.

Green's sister believes the truth will soon surface.

“I think a lot of good things were brought to light and hopefully we’ll get the outcome that is deserved,” Green's sister, Eboni Lewis said.

The judge said he's going to reread documents and issue a ruling at a later date.
