We get one more day to enjoy spring-like temperatures before cooler air returns for the rest of this week.  Monday's highs will range from near 70 in the Triangle to the mid 70s in the Sandhills.

Cooler air will arrive Monday night.  Lows should drop to near 40 by sunrise Tuesday morning.  Tuesday will be a mostly sunny to partly cloudy day with highs in the mid 50s.

Wednesday should be a bit colder.  Afternoon temperatures will only top out in the mid to upper 40s.

Thursday morning will bring the coldest temperatures of the week with lows in the mid to upper 20s.  Highs near 50 to the low 50s are forecast for Thursday and Friday.

The work week should stay dry.  Our next chance for rain will come this week as a storm system tracks near or just off the Carolina coast. However, it should be noted that this weekend's system looks to be the type of storm that could bring snow to the Carolinas.  The greatest chance for accumulating snow would be for western North Carolina.  Based on the latest available data, the chance for accumulating snow in the Triangle and Sandhills stands at 20%.

Since it is just Monday, much will likely change for the weekend forecast.  Stay tuned to Spectrum News for the latest.
