FORT BRAGG, NC -- Hundreds of soldiers on Fort Bragg lined up Friday to give toys to kids for Operation Toy Drop.

  • Hundreds of soldiers are in the spirit of giving
  • Jump masters from 11 nations attended
  • Donations were sent to charitable organizations and orphanages

While paratroopers dropped off their gifts, they were placed in a drawing to jump out of a plane. Jump masters from 11 nations were at the event. Soldiers were randomly selected to jump with a jump master from a foreign country.

In the end, paratroopers received wings to wear on their uniform.

"It's just nice to be able to give toys to kids who are unfortunate and can't afford those or their parents who can't afford those and it's just nice to give back," PFC Spencer Wells said.

Donations were sent to charitable organizations and orphanages in almost tn counties statewide. It was the 21st year for the event.
