High pressure is controlling the weather across North Carolina giving us clear skies and cold temperatures.

With the high settling over the state through the night into early Thursday, we'll see clear conditions along with very cold overnight lows.

The high will slip to our south by Thursday afternoon. This will make for more southerly winds along with slightly milder daytime highs.

We'll see more mild air and moisture push into the region on Friday.  By Friday there will be a slight chance for a few isolated showers plus near normal afternoon highs.

The warmer weather pattern will continue into early next week.

In the tropics, all remains quiet across the Atlantic Basin.
