After seeing a little sunshine and mild weather on Thursday, we're going to wrap-up the workweek with more showers.

A series of systems will move through the southeastern United States over the next 24 hours. This will lead to waves of showers over the next 24 hours across North Carolina. Though Friday will not be a washout, we will see periods of showers with cloudy skies through the day. Shower chances will linger into Friday evening.

High pressure will build into the area by early Saturday. This will set the stage for lots of sunshine for the weekend with below average daytime highs.

We'll see another chance of showers by early next week along with below average temperatures for the next week.

In the tropics, all is quiet across the Atlantic Basin at this time.
