LEE COUNTY, N.C. – The Lee County Sheriff’s office is investigating a possible case of animal cruelty.

• One of the two puppies found had a severed paw.
• Both puppies were malnourished and had parasites.

Two puppies were found infested with parasites and malnourished. One of them had a severed paw.

A Facebook post asked for answers to what happened has spread quickly.

The Animal Hospital of Fayetteville is now taking care of the pups.
