We are in for another windy day Thursday. Gusts by late afternoon could reach up to 35mph across central North Carolina.

Combine those strong gusts with low humidity around the region and the fire danger is high. If a fire were to break out in these conditions, it could spread rapidly.

The North Carolina Forest Service and National Weather Service strongly discourage any outdoor burning Thursday.

Otherwise, the wind from the west and plenty of sunshine will make for a nice warm up through the day. After early morning lows in the 20s, temperatures should warm to near 60 and the low 60s in the Triangle. The mid 60s will be possible in the Sandhills.

Mostly sunny and dry weather will continue Friday with morning lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s.

Our next chance for rain will come with passing showers Saturday.
