Raleigh--  After months of waiting and lots of attempts at in person and online lotteries and purchases, Hamilton is finally making it's way to the Durham Performing Arts Center.  The much anticipated musical is kicking off it's nearly month long run tonight.  And it's also launching the DPAC's brand new Broadway Series.

There’s no question, Hamilton has led the drive for this year’s theater series, with more people signing up for season tickets to ensure they got a shot at Hamilton tickets.  But the DPAC’s Senior Marketing Director, Rachel Traversari told Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair that other shows selling out audiences on Broadway in New York now, are also making their way to Durham.

Once Hamilton rolls down the road, Elf the Musical will take it’s spot on stage for a special run from Tuesday, December 4th- Sunday December 9th.  There will also be a special Autism Friendly Performance on December 8th at 10am, that is catered to those with specialized needs.

That run is followed by Fiddler on the Roof, January 8th- 13th, Miss Saigon January 22nd- 27th, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory February 12th- 17th, Rock of Ages February 22nd- 23rd, Dear Evan Hansen March 12th- 17th, Tap Dogs March 19th- 20th, and The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical April 9th- 10th

That run is followed by a revivial of Anastasia that is wowing crowds on Broadway right now.  That show runs April 16th- 21st with seats on sale November 1th at 10am.  Cruel Intentions: The 90’s Musical then graces the stage for a one night show April 27th, followed by Beautiful: The Carol King Musical May 7th- 12th, Hello Dolly May 21st- 26th, and finally Cats June 4th- 9th.
