RALEIGH, N.C. -- Culinary talent is on display right now in the heart of the Capital City, as we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week. Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair sat down with Stacey Simeone of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, for a look at all the goodies we can dive into this week.

The week long dining extravaganza as it’s called, kicked off on Monday, August 13 and runs through Sunday, August 19, showcasing some of the best and unique dishes dozens of downtown restaurants have to offer.

These participating offer three-course prix fixe dinners for either $20 or $30 depending on the venue, not including tax and tip, while a select few are offering $5 and $10 lunch menus for hopefully diners. Simeone says it’s a great deal for restaurant goers, but also a good way to get patrons and new business to fill seats.

Last year in 2017, more than 9,000 people took part in the featured dining week, featuring new menu items and old favorites.  And this year, 10 new restaurants are joining the mix including Café at Marbles Kids Museum, Clyde Cooper's BBQ, Glenwood Seafood, Growler USA, MOFU Shoppe, NY Bagel Cafe & Deli, Overlook @ Residence Inn, Taverna Agora, Tonbo Ramen, and Vic's Italian Café & Pizzeria.
