CHARLOTTE -- A lot of parents and students wonder what they can do over the summer to get a head start on the college application process for the upcoming fall.

Michael Trivette, the Co-founder of College Transitions, talked about how his organization helps parents and students prepare.

They develop and finalize a list of prospective colleges, create a Common App account and start writing a draft essay, construct college resume/student activities sheets, contact teachers and ask for letters of recommendations, complete any online information request forms, and prep for tests.
