Chris Williams was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He graduated from University of Maryland, College Park with a double major in broadcast journalism and criminal justice. This Maryland Terp has found life in Duke territory to be a thrill, enjoying the warm weather and beautiful beaches. Not too far from where his family still resides in Washington, D.C., Chris adores the city he now calls home!

Chris comes to North Carolina after spending six years in Mississippi. He worked three years as a bureau reporter at WHLT in Hattiesburg. While working there, he shot, wrote, edited, and produced many of his own stories. Taking this hard work into consideration, he was ultimately promoted to the main newsroom at WJTV in Jackson in May 2010. He covered several stories including the historic Mississippi River flooding in 2011. Now, as a multimedia journalist for Spectrum News, Chris finds inspiration in the unique and meaningful work he has the opportunity to be a part of every day. With a front row seat to history as it happens, this Associated Press Award winner has a true passion for sharing the important stories of extraordinary individuals.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys hanging out with friends and exploring Durham’s vibrant food scene!
