WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. – If you’re planning to head to Wrightsville Beach to beat the heat, you should plan to pay more to park this year.

The town voted to raise the cost of parking to five dollars an hour, with a daily maximum of $25.

“I came here, like last week, and it was like 17 bucks. That was a little high already because at Kure Beach it’s free. So, now that it’s 25 percent, I don’t even know if I want to come back over here,” said Jean Carlo Rivera, visitor to Wrightsville Beach.

Parking enforcement will be in effect 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
