According to Saif Al Amin, a graduate student at the university, most of his professors are transitioning a lot of their coursework to online software to prepare for any possible lockdown.

He says many of the online assignments include readings and written reflections or discussion boards. However, he says he’s comfortable learning in that environment.

“I’ve gone over with them what’s a quality discussion and how do we mimic what we would have in the classroom online,” says Professor Sharon Morrison from the Department of Public Health Education.

According to her, most of the faculty have experience teaching classes online.

She says faculty and students are constantly receiving emails from UNCG about how to protect themselves from the virus and what guidelines to follow if they’re returning from a semester or trip abroad.

Morrison says the school will continue to follow developments carefully, and students are happy about the constant communication.
