This year there were about 1,400 people participating in this fun event.

There was music, vendors, refreshments and of course turkey hats.

Runners said it’s a fun and active way to start of their Thanksgiving celebrations.

"I just wanted to spend some time with a good friend and I heard about this race, and it looked like a lot of fun and I love the hat and that's why we're doing the race," said participant, Denise Simpson.

The proceeds benefit "Say Yes Guilford", which helps prepare students for success in college and beyond.
