ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. -- For most students, it's not every day they get to drive an obstacle course in a police car or solve mock crime scenes.

On Monday, some Alamance Burlington Schools students had the opportunity to experience what it's like to be a police officer.

A total of 24 students taking the career and technical education course shadowed Burlington Police, showing them the inner workings of the job.

Students were exposed to crime scene investigations, emergency response driving, and response to resistance scenarios using a simulator.

The participating high school students were taking a career and technical education course.
