Mayor Leonard Williams has held his title for 18 years and was reelected for another term this month.

He's one of the longest serving mayors in Gibsonville and one of the state's few African-American mayors.

“I’m going to do the best I can over the next four years to make this town a better place for everybody,” said Mayor Williams. "Not just black or white anybody that want to come I think they ought to. I’m looking forward to the town goring and working with the community.”

He plans to change the old mill into an apartment complex in the next few months, as well as add new shops and homes in the future.
