GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- Police addressed two officer-involved shootings that happened within 24 hours.

  • On Monday morning, deputies went to a home on Braddock Road in High Point
  • After a 10-hour stand-off, authorities rushed the home
  • Police say a man at the home shot two deputies and in order to defend themselves, three other deputies returned fire

On Monday morning, deputies went to a home on Braddock Road in High Point.

They say a man at the home, Victor Jarvis, prevented them from doing so by locking himself inside.

After a 10-hour stand-off, authorities rushed the home.

According to Brian Hall of the Guilford County Sheriff's Office, Jarvis shot two deputies and in order to defend themselves, three other deputies returned fire. Jarvis died at the scene.

One of the deputies shot is still in a hospital, while the other has been released.

Authorities are also revealing new information in a Tuesday morning Jamestown shooting.

  • They responded to Bales Chapel Road for a welfare check on Dennis Patrick Junior
  • Deputies spoke with him shortly after he began shooting at them
  • Authorities shot back and killed Patrick at the scene. No law enforcement officers were injured
