GREENSBORO, N.C.  -- Cold air continues to flow in and dominate the region as we enter this new workweek. Our Martin Luther King holiday will be beautiful with plenty of sunshine, but bitterly cold. After a morning with single digit wind chill values, it will feel like the 20s during peak temperatures Monday afternoon. Highs today for many will max near 30 degrees. During this time, winds will be breezy out of the northwest at 10 mph. This will create a afternoon wind chill in the mid 20s.

Skies will remain clear Monday night as we cool down towards another night below freezing. Lows overnight will likely rest in the mid-teens.

Arctic high pressure will drift east across the region tomorrow, ensuring another dry and sunny day. Temperatures will be slightly warmer Tuesday afternoon. Highs will peak near 40 degrees. High pressure will drift offshore Tuesday night allowing our next storm system to enter the area. This new area of low pressure will move through the region Wednesday and Thursday bringing the return of rain to the Carolinas.
