NORTH CAROLINA -- The State Board of Elections and Ethics requested Monday to remain in tact while they investigate claims of election fraud.

In a letter sent to the judges, Chairman Joshua Malcolm requests that the judges rule to keep the board active during the entire investigation of election fraud in North Carolina's 9th congressional district race between Mark Harris and Dan McCready.

In the letter, Malcolm says "counsel for subpoenaed parties have begun submitting responsive records, but they have uniformly indicated additional time is needed for review and production of additional materials."

The board was set to originally dissolved on Wednesday.
