GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Brisk northwest winds will ease off later tonight, but not before ushering in Arctic Air to the region.

  • The next week or so will feature seasonably cold air as temperatures will range 10 to even 20 degrees below normal
  • Now, dry weather will persist for the rest of the week
  • A reasonable winter storm seems possible for the area as a mix of rain, snow, and ice seems mostly likely based on current forecast tracks

In fact, the next week or so will feature seasonably cold air as temperatures will range 10 to even 20 degrees below normal for this time of year. So, the bottom linesis bundle up!

Now, dry weather will persist for the rest of the week.  After that, a strong storm system will sweep out of the Gulf Coast and into the Carolinas by late Saturday.

The storm may continue much, if not all, of Sunday. At this point, a reasonable winter storm seems possible for the area as a mix of rain, snow, and ice seems mostly likely based on current forecast tracks.

However, its still a little early for details but forecast snow totals should grow with great confidence over the day or so.  We'll keep you posted.
