A couple of systems will be impacting our weather as we head into the weekend.

As an area of low pressure will approach the region and rain will overspread the state overnight and continue into Saturday. Some areas around the Triad and near the Virginia line will experience a brief period of freezing rain, but temperatures will rise above freezing well before sunrise. Early Saturday expect widespread moderate to heavy.

Shower activity will end from west to east through the afternoon. Drier conditions will arrive later in the Saturday night and remain through Sunday thanks to a weak area of high pressure.
