A back door cold front slid south over the Carolinas this morning. The moisture deprived front created very little cloud coverage and absolutely no rain. Now we're behind the front with high pressure well to our north over New York. Today will feature plenty of sun but not a lot of heat. Highs today will be well below average. In the Greensboro-Triad area, expect daytime highs ranging from the mid to upper 40s. For the Triangle area, expect highs near 50 degrees. The warmest location will likely be the Fayetteville-Sandhills area with highs in the low 50s.

Skies will remain clear tonight allowing for temperatures to plummet. Many will likely experience near or below freezing temperatures overnight. Based off the latest data, lows will range between the upper 20s to low 30s.

Dry air will remain in place through the day Friday so expect a frigid morning for anyone out early for Black Friday shopping. Sunny skies will warm conditions up gradually but highs will be below average once again in the mid to upper 40s.

Moisture will begin to return to the area Friday night and through Saturday. Visually we'll see that moisture return in the form of clouds building across our skies. Rain will track from the southwest to the northeast. The Triad will likely receive rain first thing Saturday morning and through midday. Rain will begin to impact the Triangle and the Sandhills early by midday.
