About 1,600 people came out to compete in the Korean martial art or to simply just watch.

The World Tang Soo Do Association has members in more than 30 countries around the world but its headquarters is in Burlington.

"They've gone to Anaheim before, they've gone to Orlando and you have all those tourist attractions. Now you come to Greensboro, those attractions are not here," said President Bill Strong.

"This year, we got with the tourism department to give information to all the people who'd be traveling of all the things to do."

The competition wrapped up Saturday night. Today, competitors and guests will celebrate with a picnic in Burlington before heading home.
