KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- A killer is still on the loose after shooting a man in an apartment complex in the middle of the afternoon.

  • The shooting happened Saturday afternoon at the Lake Apartments
  • There are now three men police believe are involved in the murder
  • Surveillance footage from a nearby business provided images of the suspects

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon at the Lake Apartments on Century Boulevard.

There are now three men police believe are involved in the murder of 41-year-old Kenneth Kelly at his home.

Kelly's fiance and two teenage kids were inside his apartment when the shooting happened.

After interviews with neighbors, investigators say the suspects do not live in the area.

Surveillance footage from a nearby business provided images of the suspects.

"We would ask for no one to approach them and inquire as to why they may be in neighborhood because these are individuals that I would deem to be dangerous," stated Kernersville police.

There is also footage of two cars investigators believe to belong to the suspects. The cars are a 2000 Chevrolet black Equinox and a red Nissan Altima. They were last seen heading onto Business 40 toward Greensboro.

This is the first homicide in Kernersville this year. There was only one in all of last year.
