WINSTON-SALEM -- One of the largest music venues in the Twin City is back in business under a new name.

The Ramkat, formerly Ziggy's, opened to a large crowd Friday night.

The venue closed two years ago when the owners decided to not renew the lease.

The new owners say it left a void in the city for local artists to perform.

"They're going to see a lot of great local bands," said Co-owner Richard Emmett. "They're going to see a high production value show, which means great sound, great lights and a comfortable atmosphere."

Ramkat also has a new drinking room, the Gas Hill Bar, open during the week.
