ASHEBORO – Two men are facing several charges for stealing batteries out of school buses across Randolph County last December.

Tabernacle Elementary, Uwharrie Ridge, Eastern Randolph High and Uwharrie Charter Academy were all affected.

Randolph County sheriff’s deputies say Christopher Pauley,31, was arrested and charged with three counts of felony breaking/entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods/property.

Daniel Beitzel, 31, was charged with 16 counts of felony breaking/entering of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods/property.

Additionally, deputies say he was charged with stealing from two other buses in the Liberty and Seagrove area.

More charges are pending as the investigation continues.
