After a nice stretch of mild weather for the Triad last week, colder air returned to the region on Saturday and will now settle in through much of the coming week.

Now, it's not expected to be nearly as cold as the first few days of the new year.  However, highs will run in the 30s and 40s, with overnight lows expected to fall in to the teens and 20s.  Despite the cold air, conditions look to remain dry through Tuesday.  At that point, a weak front will approach the Carolinas and some light snow will be possible Tuesday night and Wednesday.  Any accumulations appear to be light.

Milder weather will make a gradual return toward the end of the week.  IN fact, highs should warm to above-average by next weekend.
