Raleigh, N.C.-- In the January issue of Our State Magazine, the popular monthly publication is highlighting North Carolina through a lens.  Life in Pictures, the Photography Issue, celebrates the people who and the photos that help us keep North Carolina memories alive.

Our Caroline Blair goes In Depth with Editor in Chief Elizabeth Hudson, who describes special articles including Maximum Exposure, a look at one of the top photography programs on the East Coast, that can be found at a small community college in Asheboro, Randolph Community College.  There, they say old-school film techniques are preparing artists to work in the digital age.

She also takes a look Behind the Lens, at some of the amazing photographers who are now Our State contributors, who got their start and training at RCC.

Hudson also chats about North Carolina's unofficial photographer, the late Hugh Morton, who captured many of our state's most memorable moments over the last several decades.  An eye on Our State looks back at the life of Morton, and Hudson also tells us about a special way he's being remembered at the North Carolina History Museum.

And finally, we take you to High Point as part of a new segment through Our State Magazine, where we meet a man obsessed with cameras, and take you through the warehouse where he stores them.

Note: We Live Here is a new section in Our State that features people who do interesting things in unexpected places. They are looking for suggestions.  Visit their website to submit your submissions.
