NORTH CAROLINA — Fred made landfall as a tropical storm and has weakened, but still packs a punch as remnants of this tropical system move through North Carolina.

Heavy rainfall has caused numerous flash floods and landslides in western N.C. Additional flooding will be possible through the evening.

Numerous tornado warnings have been issued in throughout Tuesday and the threat for additional tornadoes will continue overnight.

These severe storms have caused widespread power outages.
