Ariella Scalese joined the Spectrum News Greensboro team in August 2018. As a proud former Spectrum News intern in Texas, the opportunity to join the team once again was something she knew she couldn’t pass up.

When asked about the most meaningful story she’s covered, Ariella brings up her recent coverage of the December 2017 snow storm in Greensboro. Ariella recalls this as being the first time she truly felt connected with her viewers. Being able to share their photos and stories of how the community came together to make the best out of a trying situation is a humbling feeling she keeps with her to this day.  Ariella has always made volunteering a priority in her life and with each new place she moves to, she tries her best to leave a positive impact on the community. Some of her favorite volunteer experiences include helping at local animal shelters and holding and feeding premature babies in the NICU.

When Ariella isn’t at the news desk or volunteering in her community, you can find her hiking one of the many great trails North Carolina has to offer. On a rainy day, you can find her at home with her fiance and dog, either catching up on an episode of Grey's Anatomy or reading a Nicholas Sparks novel.
