WILMINGTON, N.C. -- After a day of record breaking warmth Thursday, Friday's cold front will bring a big cool down for the weekend! The cold front will pass through mainly dry during the day Friday other than a small chance for showers across the Outer Banks. As it moves eastward, temperatures will manage to warm into the mid 70s to near 80 degrees for one more day before a major cool down overnight.

The big plunge in temperatures will arrive Saturday, with temperatures cooling back into the 40s to low 50s for highs. Sunday will be similar with dry weather prevailing.

Our next system begins moving in Sunday night, bringing a wet start to the work week with rain in the forecast from Monday through Wednesday morning.
