DAVIDSON, N.C. -- A Davidson man killed while on vacation in Mexico is remembered in his hometown.

  • Hundreds gathered at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church to celebrate his life

Thirty-four year old Patrick Braxton Andrew disappeared in Mexico late in October, prompting a massive search that went on for weeks.

Eventually, police found him and believe a criminal organization took his life.

Braxton Andrew taught Spanish at a private school in Mooresville and frequently traveled to Central America.

Hundreds gathered at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church to celebrate his life. His adventurous nature and compassion for others are why friends and family say he will be greatly missed.

A scholarship has been created in his honor at Davidson College, to support students who want to travel and study abroad.
