NORTH CAROLINA – Monday is the deadline for farmers with damage from Hurricane Florence and Tropical Storm Michael to apply for disaster relief.

The funds would come from the Hurricane Florence Agriculture and Disaster program; the $240 million bill that was approved by the general assembly.

The program is designed to help farmers who suffered losses from commodities planted but not harvested before September 13, as well as livestock.

Initial estimates for crop damage and livestock losses was $1.1 billion.
