WILMINGTON, N.C. -- A big storm will bring a big winter hit to portions of central and all of western North Carolina.

  • Cold rain is expected
  • Flooding might be a concern
  • Rain to end Monday

Here in eastern North Carolina, just a cold rain is expected. Wilmington will see some light rain by Saturday afternoon. The Outer Banks won't see rain until the precipitation from the storm pushes North late Saturday night and early Sunday.

Winds will whip up and there will likely be powerful winds Monday, as the storm moves northeast up, out, and away.

Local flooding might become a concern if areas become inundated with more than 2 inches of rain.

We'll look for the rain to end sometime Monday.
