BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. – The vice chair of The Bladen County Board of Elections has resigned as the state investigates potential election fraud in the 9th Congressional District race.

In a statement, Jens Lutz said: “Sometimes in life circumstances reach the breaking point especially when your [sic] trying to do the right thing.  It becomes even more difficult when your family is drug into the drama plus your own party begins to attack you for compromising and common sense decisions.  Therefore; [sic] I hereby resign from the Bladen County Board of elections effective immediately.  I regret having to do this but things have gotten way out of hand.”

The 9th District race has been subject to much controversy as of recent. In wake of the election fraud investigation the Democratic candidate, Dan McCready has withrdawn his concession to Republican Mark Harris, who says he was unaware of any wrongdoing
