WILMINGTON, N.C. -- It's all quiet Friday, but heavy rain will threaten this weekend.

Low pressure will track to our south then move up the coast, tapping in to plenty of Gulf and Atlantic moisture. Rain chances will begin on Saturday but the heavier rain moves in Sunday and Monday.

It will be a mess with 2 to 3 inches of rain before it's all done but it will be much worse to our west. From Raleigh to Greensboro and Charlotte, there could be as much as 6 inches of snow with sleet and freezing rain also possible. They may get more than a foot of snow up in the mountains. So, I guess we should be pleased that it will be all rain here.
