Award-winning children's book author, Trevor Romain, hosts a program called "With You All the Way" as part of his initiative called Comfort Crew for Military Kids.

Romain engaged with students from area elementary schools about how they feel when a loved one is deployed or returns from deployment a changed person.

He advised students to never give up seeking support when they need it. He gave them a tip that described tracing an outline of their hand on a piece of paper. Beside each finger, write the name of someone they trust. When they need support, they start with one name, and if that person is not able to fulfill their needs, continue to the next.

"I want them to keep going and asking for support. I don't talk about it as being help. I talk about it as being support, because help infers they are helpless. They're not helpless. They just need support," said Romain.

The Comfort Crew for Military Kids will make stops in Fayetteville and Jacksonville this week to give similar presentations at other schools.
