BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. – The Brunswick County School Board has chosen a familiar face to be their new superintendent.

• Dr. Jerry Oates has been named superintendent of Brunswick County Schools.
• He has been with the district since 2015.
• Before joining the Brunswick County district he was a principal in New Hanover County.

Dr. Jerry Oates was named superintendent during the board’s meeting Monday.

Oates has been with the district since 2015 as Executive Director of Human Resources.

Before that he was a principal with New Hanover County Schools.
