NORTH CAROLINA — As Florence works its way out of the state, rain totals in some areas of the state have exceeded two feet over the past few days.

As such, many of the state's rivers and creeks are overflowing, some at historic rates.

RIVERS WITH MAJOR FLOODING 

  • Lumber River at Lumberton West 5th
  • Lumber River at Lumberton
  • Black River near Tomahawk
  • Cape Fear River at W.O. Huske Lot
  • Cape Fear River at Lock 1
  • N.E. Cape Fear River near Burgaw
  • Neuse River near Goldsboro
  • Neuse River at Kinston
  • Cape Fear River at Fayetteville
  • Cortentnea Creek at Hookerton

RIVERS WITH MODERATE FLOODING 

  • Cape Fear River at Elizabethtown
  • Neuse River at Fort Barnwell
  • Swift Creek above Streets Ferry
  • Trent River at Trenton

 

According to the National Weather Service's Advance Hydrologic Prediction Service, the Neuse River near Goldsboro has already reached 27.6 feet, about 2.1 feet from its record.

The Cape Fear River near Burgaw has reached 25.53 feet, surpassing its 22.5 feet record.
