BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. -- Jesse Sgro, who went missing last Saturday during a canoeing trip with his church, has been found dead in Bladen County.

Officials say he was found in the middle of a lake, several hundred yards from both the pier and the far Shoreline.

They say he had removed some of his articles of clothing so it appears that he was struggling to swim.

Sgro was 23 years old.
