LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. -- Two teens were arrested after police say they broke into a Lenoir County home and killed the pets inside.

It happened Feb. 4.

Seventeen-year-old Hallie Pate and 18-year-old Jordan Ruiz are both charged with 12 crimes including breaking and entering and felony cruelty to animals.

Authorities say Pate and Ruiz also stole items from inside of the home and from a car, which was later set on fire.

The teens were caught after they sold the stolen items.

Pate and Ruiz received a $50,000 bond.
