Trying to figure out how to get there on top of all the other stresses, can be very difficult for many families. However, a group in North Carolina is jumping in, helping take hundreds of flights a year, delivering families to their much needed medical treatments.

Children’s Flight of Hope may be based in Morrisville, North Carolina, but the non-profit helps families around the world. The group's CEO, Haley Transou Terry, sat down with Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair for a look at their work, and the needs they must meet to keep this important work up and running.

Founded in 1990, Children’s Flight of Hope was founded by Durham pilot and businessman Al Wethington, who began offering his own services to help families in need in his community. Now, in 2018, the non-profit has grown helping make hundreds of flights a year, helping dozens of children get the critical care they need.

On Friday, November 2, the non-profit is hosting a major fund raiser titled A Vintage Affair, held at the The Pavillion at the Angus Barn in Raleigh. The seated dinner, auction fundraiser is a major contributor to the work the non-profit is able to do a year. Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair is helping emcee the event.

However, there are plenty of other ways you can get involved, from donating your time, money or services. For more information visit their website, email them at info@cfoh.org, or call 919-466-8593.
