LONDON — The Browns will be playing football in early October, but not the kind these fans may be used to.
At 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 5, the Browns will be taking on the Minnesota Vikings, airing on NFL Network.
All sounds normal so far.
The difference is that this will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, what a post on the Browns website calls “the only purpose-built NFL stadium outside the U.S.”
This will be considered a home game for Cleveland.
“The NFL launched the NFL International Series in 2007, which featured regular-season games played outside the United States,” the post reads. “The success of the London games in 2007 prompted the NFL to schedule regular-season games in the United Kingdom annually. The series has expanded over the years, as games are now played in venues like Wembley Stadium, Twickenham Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.”
If you’re a big enough fan to consider a trip across the pond to view this game, single-game tickets go on sale at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14. You can find more info here.
