Friday was an incredibly windy day around the region, and numerous trees and powerlines were toppled as a result of those winds. Scattered thunderstorms also enhanced the winds in spots and brought some hail to some locations.

Today is a much quieter weather day around the region. We will have plenty of sunshine throughout the day, and highs will warm into the 70s for much of the Carolinas (60s in the mountains).

A weakening storm system will swing into the Carolinas Sunday, and a few showers are possible in the mountains tonight into Sunday morning. Elsewhere, there is a small chance of a couple of isolated showers or storms, but the rain chances in any one location are very small.

Monday will be a nice, mild day, and then temperatures really crank to well above average levels Tuesday and Wednesday.

Our next significant storm system will arrive later Friday with good shower and storm chances.
