It was definitely a rough and tumble Friday and Friday night across the Carolinas. Rounds of strong to severe storms rumbled through a good chunk of the Carolinas yesterday, and those storms remained very active through the Outer Banks very early this morning.

Behind the cold front, it's a cooler and windy day today. Much more stable air is in place as well, so scattered showers will remain possible, especially over the western Carolinas, but no severe weather concerns are with us today. As colder air aloft settles in, snow showers will occur from time to time in the mountains of North Carolina with a couple of inches possible above about 4,000 feet. At the same time, the coastal Carolinas will top out close to 70 with sunshine and gusty southwest winds.

Easter Sunday looks nice around the region with highs a bit below average for this time of year.

Monday through Wednesday look wonderful with lots of sun and increasingly warm temperatures. In fact, by mid-week, many non-mountain spots could have some 80s for highs.

The next system looks to bring us some shower and storm chances around Friday.
